Kids & AI Workshops (Winter Term 2026)
12 Sep - 01 Dec 2025
The Course
My First Coding Journey: AI Edition - Level 1 (6-10yrs) **Unaccompanied**
My First Coding Journey: AI Edition - Level 1 (6–10 years old) is an action‑packed, 8‑week adventure where kids don't just learn about AI—they create it! Guided by our energetic instructor, young explorers dive into hands-on activities to train real AI models, build interactive games, and experiment with image, sound, and pattern recognition using kid-friendly tools. Each session is buzzing with teamwork, playful challenges, and "wow!" moments, ending with a proud project showcase. No prior experience needed—just a laptop, curiosity, creativity, and a big imagination!
My First Coding Journey: AI Edition - Level 2 (6-10yrs) **Unaccompanied**
My First Coding Journey: AI Edition - Level 2 (6–10 years old) builds on the foundations from Level 1, taking young AI creators to the next level of innovation! Over 8 exciting weeks, students advance from basic AI models to creating sophisticated multi-modal AI applications that combine vision, sound, and text. They'll explore natural language processing by building chatbots and story generators, dive deeper into computer vision with object detection and tracking systems and create AI that can understand and generate music. Students will also learn about AI ethics and responsible technology use while developing more complex interactive games and practical AI tools. Each week features collaborative team challenges, advanced project development, and opportunities to mentor newer learners. The course culminates in a comprehensive AI portfolio showcase where students present their advanced creations. Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1 or instructor approval after pre-evaluation for advanced students. Bring your laptop, creativity, and readiness to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI!
AI in Our World: Solving Problems (11-14yrs) **Unaccompanied**
AI in Our World: Solving Problems (11–14 years old) is an energizing, 8-week, journey where teens discover how AI works—and how it can tackle real-world challenges. Through interactive sessions, they learn how AI learns from data, recognizes patterns, and makes simple predictions, while exploring its impact across healthcare, the environment, transportation, and entertainment. Along the way, students practice foundational coding logic, debate the benefits and ethics of AI, and design their own prototype solution to a problem they care about. Note that the material is the same as the class "AI in Our World: Solving Problems" that was taught in Fall Term 2025. No prior experience required—just a laptop, curiosity, creativity, and a drive to make a difference.
